Navigate Dementia was born from a deeply personal experience. When our mother was diagnosed with early-onset dementia, our family was thrust into a world filled with uncertainty, fear, and countless questions. The support we received was minimal—some leaflets, a brief visit from an occupational therapist focusing on practical home adjustments, but little in the way of emotional guidance or comprehensive understanding.
We quickly realised that after the diagnosis, families are often left to navigate the complex and challenging path of dementia care on their own. There was a glaring absence of resources to help us comprehend the changes our mother was experiencing, to explain behaviours like sundowning, or to provide our father—the primary caregiver—with the emotional support and companionship he desperately needed.
Navigate Dementia was created for families like ours. It's a platform designed to:
Our aim is to transform the caregiving experience from one of isolation and confusion to one of empowerment and understanding.
At the heart of Navigate Dementia is our father, who faces the daily realities of caregiving with unwavering love and resilience. This platform is a tribute to him and to every caregiver who walks this path. We strive to provide the tools, knowledge, and support that were lacking in our own journey, hoping to make the road a little smoother for others.
Thank you for visiting Navigate Dementia. Together, we can navigate the challenges of dementia with compassion, clarity, and hope.
